Making the cake:
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- Grease the pans and dust them with a little flour and shake them then set it a side
- Place the mesh strainer on top of a medium bowl and add 2 cups of cake flour, 2 tsp. of baking powder, 1/2 tsp. of salt, sift the ingredients together, set the flour mixer a side.
- Separate the yolk from 8 large eggs.
- Put a cup of soften butter in a large bowl, add 11/2 cups of sugar.
- Beat with an electric mixer on medium high speed until the butter if light and fluffy for about three minutes.
- Beat in the egg yolk one at a time,beating well after each addition.
- Then beat 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.
- Add the flour mixer alternatively and 3 quarters of milk and mix it just till it is incorporated.
- Pour the batter in the prepared pans dividing and spreading evenly.
- Bake the cakes for 25-30 min. or until the top spring back when lightly tapped.
